Diversity in poses

Some days are challenging and the pose will ask lots of questions, whereas other days can be quite hilarious.

Double model day on August 24th 2014

Jacqui and her husband Martin modelling together at Angela Palmer's studio.
The new issue for me was the intimacy between the two bodies and the two minds which I believe I managed to suggest in some of the drawings.

"brain, heart and courage" Day Three of the still-life workshop

The scarecrow and the lion are introduced. The scarecrow wants a brain in the search for wisdom, and the cowardly lion needs courage. So completes the drawing.
I feel I engaged with the issues I had set out at the start, I.e. morphic forms, interpenetration (depth), ambiguity and complexity, and the evolution of my two-handed drawing technique. Now back to life drawing.

"brain, heart and courage" Day Two of the still-life workshop

The Witch of the West and other aspects of The Wizard of Oz began to enter into my narrative.
A journey up through the composition together with a depth plain (a huge rectangular insight into the mind of the child) began to emerge.
I held back, and only slowly introduced new inputs into my drawing.
