Another day, a different response.

This posting follows immediately from the previous one and the drawings could be seen to be a response to the frustration and doubt expressed. However they could simply be the result of a change in the multitude of variables which come into play to influence the artist's perception, attitude and reaction, from one venue and time to another. One major influence which suggested to me I could explore something different was the space available to move my easel across the studio, and back, a number of times, to bring together two views of the model. There was lots of space to do this in.
Another variable I was conscious of was that I was feeling really good within myself. So I believe I was in a very relaxed state, both mentally and physically. The drawings have a flow about them, a sort of 'freedom of expression'. And, Liv the model inspires. But I would add here that Liv inspires in specific ways, as do each of the models I regularly draw. They each have physical and personalty characteristics that stimulate a dialogue between artist and model. There is no barrier. It is a joy to share a process in which artist and model feel and acknowledge that both are contributing, and that both appreciate the other's role.
