My posting of January 16th suggested I had re-engaged with my art after the enforced absence of dealing with my leukaemia. Re-visiting some latest drawings and attempting to unravel my process resulted in some interesting outcomes. I suggested there might be some mileage in this activity, particularly as I am unlikely to continue with travel and to meet with colleagues in a confined space.
So I have commenced the academic exercise of analysing my feelings about what is happening. Firstly, how to describe my genre? Here is my latest attempt. Nothing particularly new here, but I feel a clarity in the way I am describing the journey I am now on:
My journey from Figurative, via Cubism and Surrealism, to reconstructed Montage forms sometimes Abstract sometimes Natural.
Spatiality achieved though Layering is an overriding philosophy.
So far I have identified two Spatial alternatives, but I am sure there will be others as time evolves:

Brilliant you're back up and running! Complete with energy to draw wierdly(!) and deposit very nuanced narrative on your state of mind, body and a whole lot more.
ReplyDeleteFor me the fact you do all of this drawing stuff simultaneously with both hands is the most amazing. I like the intro of colour and for sure you can't beat a good arse!
Modern medicine is getting better by the day and AI is going to take it up another big notch.. Add to that quantum computing and then we can forget about death ( my protege at Warwick has made a big contribution in that regard - I always used to joke " holes (as opposed to electrons that is) will rule". Put them in a compressively bi-axial strained Ge quantum well and they look as though they are the winner, courtesy of strong spin-orbit coupling. Allows 1 billion qubits to be fabbed on a silicon chip as opposed to 2000 Microsoft has at the mo!) Never too olde to learn. In fact Robert you're plenty smart enough to get your head around such stuff, where i could never be able to draw with both hands!
Now I've rediscovered your blog will keep an eye out for more output. Keep up this outstanding art, let it continue developing, plenty young enough to diversify into outrageous territory.....look forward to it!! PS Why not draw Anne Pryde from memory?
