Is it a myth? Is he a legend? Now, the revelation! Two-pencil-bob is a reality.

My postings since about October 2012 have revealed and discussed my two-handed-drawing. Yes I do use both hands, making marks simultaneously.  You will see here that currently this involves my graphite pencils being held at their ends so making them a true extension of my fingers at the extremities of my arms. I stand at my easel moving back and forth engaging my body and my mind in a kinetic process. In this very spatial and mobile activity I assume that both sides of my brain are called upon. If this is happening then from the left side I bring into play my 'logical, sequential, rational, analytical, objective , and looking at the parts' approach, and from the right side my 'random, intuitive, holistic, synthesizing, subjective, looking at wholes' approach.

Drawing Abigail on February 25th 2014

To start with Abigail did four quick poses, about 5 to 7 minutes each.
Then on to the main pose which we will have again next Tuesday also.
However, today I attended for the morning only, and elected to spend my time on the one drawing. So I didn't rush, and concentrated on the composition, the journey for the beholder's along the diagonal, and on such issues as backgound tone alongside highlighted body and silhouet against a light background. How to include background is something I intend to address over the coming weeks.
Now, it is natural for me to draw with both hands, simultaneously and both contributing equally. It has become my natural way to draw.
